Terms of use

Version 3 · 24 September 2026. These are the terms you agree to when you set up a family in Sprout. They go together with the privacy policy.

The short version. Sprout is a free family tool during its pilot. It keeps a record; it does not hold or move real money. You are the grown-up in charge of the family you create, and you agree to use it for your own children. We will do our best, and we will tell you when something changes.

1. Who agrees

These terms are between you and Vetri-Ed (Pty) Ltd, Gaborone, Botswana. You must be an adult, and the parent or legal guardian of each child you add. By adding a child you confirm you have the authority to agree to these terms and to the privacy policy on their behalf. Children do not agree to anything: they have no account and cannot accept terms.

2. What Sprout is, and is not

Sprout is a shared record that helps children take on responsibilities at home and build healthy money habits. It records jobs, points, the money you choose to give, and how a child splits and saves it. The real money stays with you. Sprout is not a bank, a wallet, a payment service or an investment product; it never holds, moves or promises money. Every amount in the app is a note of something a grown-up has decided, and only a grown-up can approve work or release money.

3. Your account

Keep your password and your grown-up code private. Anyone who has them can act as you inside your family.
You are responsible for the phones you link to your family. Remove any phone you no longer use from Profile › Family.
One family per account. If you need a second family, use a second email address.
Tell us straight away at hello@sproutfamily.co if you think someone else has access to your account.

4. Using Sprout well

Use Sprout only for your own family, and only as a family tool. Do not use it to store anyone else's personal information, to send messages to people who have not asked for them, or to try to reach other families' data. We may suspend or remove an account that is used to harm other people, to abuse the service, or to break the law.

5. The pilot, and how Sprout may change

Sprout is free during the pilot. We may change features, pause the service for maintenance, or end the pilot. If we end it, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and keep the export working for that time so you can take your family's record with you. If we ever introduce paid features, they will be optional and explained before you are asked to pay for anything.

6. Your data

How we handle your family's information is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: you can export everything at any time, delete a child immediately, or delete the whole family with a 30-day grace period after which erasure is permanent.

7. Our responsibility, and its limits

We provide Sprout as it is, with reasonable care, and we work to keep it available and correct. Because it is a free pilot we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for decisions you make about real money based on what the app shows. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including for our own fraud or negligence causing personal injury.

8. Ending your use

You can stop at any time by deleting your family in the app. We may close accounts under section 4, or if the pilot ends under section 5, and will say why where we can.

9. Changes to these terms

When these terms change in a way that matters, the app asks you to read and agree to the new version before you carry on, and the version at the top goes up. Earlier versions are kept.

10. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Botswana. If you live elsewhere, nothing here removes protections your own law gives you as a consumer.
