A simple start

It starts with your family.
And one small habit.

Adult money habits are largely formed by around the age of seven, long before a child holds a bank card.
Whitebread & Bingham, University of Cambridge (2013). Research conducted outside Botswana; cited as the basis for how Sprout is designed.
  1. Make room for everyone

Create your family account and add your children. Give good habits a shared place to grow.

  2. Choose the everyday jobs

Pick from the ideas or add your own. Family jobs earn points. Paid jobs earn money. You decide what fits.

  3. Empower your children

Let them make real decisions about how to give, save and spend their money. Challenge them to plan their spending and to work towards a savings goal they choose.

How money is handled

Sprout records money activity. Parents manage the actual money outside the app. Sprout cannot hold or transfer funds.

The amounts displayed are records, not funds held by Sprout. Screens shown use example data.

Room to grow

Habits that grow
with them.

The right kind of independence, at the right age.

Big lessons. Small beginnings.

  • Give, save, spend

Give their money a purpose with three simple jars.

  • Helping comes first

Family jobs earn helping points. Paid jobs earn money.

  • Something to work towards

Choose a goal and watch their progress grow.

Their first goal. A growing sense of responsibility.

Sprout product example: Give, Save and Spend jars and a football saving goal

More independence. More intention.

A plan today. More confidence tomorrow.

Sprout product example: a monthly plan with money received, planned spending and what has been spent so far

Your money stays with you

Real money. Recorded in Sprout.

Money is held and spent outside the app. Sprout helps your family record it, plan for it and talk about it. Sprout doesn’t hold or transfer funds.

Good questions

A little clarity before you start.

Getting to know Sprout.

Is the pilot really free?

Yes. Sprout’s current self-run pilot is free for families. The pilot is a chance to try Sprout and help shape the experience.

Does Sprout hold my child’s money?

No. Sprout records money activity that happens outside the app. It cannot hold or transfer money. You keep using the cash or accounts your family already uses.

What ages is Sprout for?

Sprout is designed for ages 5–17. Younger children start with jars, jobs and goals. Teens have tools for budgeting, recording spending and learning about money. Parents and guardians stay involved.

Does every job need a payment?

No. Sprout keeps everyday family responsibilities separate from paid jobs. Family jobs earn helping points, while paid jobs earn money — so pitching in at home has value beyond what it pays.
